Using Rally’s WAR database and OPS+ data from Baseball-Reference, I’ve constructed these sortable tables for the 2010 Hall of Fame candidates. In addition to the more traditional OPS+ and ERA+, I’ve added Wins Above Replacement (WAR). Not only that, but I’ve included most of the numbers that go into the calculation of WAR. Now that Baseball Projection has released their Historical WAR stats, I feel like I need to play with it as much as I can. Since I’m pretty obsessed with all things Hall of Fame, I figured I’d take a look at the hitters on last year’s Hall of Fame ballot and compare their WAR (wins above replacement) to their voting percentage. For my first post here at BaseballTwit, I want to take a quick look at the 2009 Hall of Fame ballot and let you know where I stand on each candidate.
