The other day, I posted a list of the nine players I supported for induction to the Hall of Fame this year. That list was:
- Bert Blyleven
- Edgar Martinez
- Barry Larkin
- Roberto Alomar
- Tim Raines
- Mark McGwire
- Andre Dawson
- Alan Trammell
- Lee Smith
Using Rally’s WAR database and OPS+ data from Baseball-Reference, I’ve constructed these sortable tables for the 2010 Hall of Fame candidates. In addition to the more traditional OPS+ and ERA+, I’ve added Wins Above Replacement (WAR). Not only that, but I’ve included most of the numbers that go into the calculation of WAR. For my first post here at BaseballTwit, I want to take a quick look at the 2009 Hall of Fame ballot and let you know where I stand on each candidate. The Hall of Fame is one of my favorite topics, thanks to the endless debates it produces.
